Pirate Cove Chili Cook-Off 2025

The event starts at 4:00. Please set up your table early- by 3:30 have all of your supplies & decorations ready for guests. You can bring your chili just before 4:00. People tend to come early to our events so please have your table ready. The road will be blocked and I will be out by the pavilion around 2:00 setting up.

You can set up as early as you would like. It is on a first request, first choice for table location.

How it works:

Each guest will sign in at the welcome table and will receive one ballot. They will vote for their favorite chili and most spirited chili makers. Table décor and extra toppings etc. help create a fun spirited vibe!

When they turn in their ballot, their name will be crossed off to ensure one vote per person.

THE BIG QUESTION: How much chili to make? It is hard to know how much chili to make, we provide 3 oz tastings cups but you do not need to fill all the way. 2 large crock pots will be enough for sure, I think… you can always adjust your serving size depending on the size of the crowd. More is better.

We will provide:

An electrical source, serving ladle, paper towels, napkins, 3 oz tasting cups, spoons, ballots, pens, poster board, and if you need a table, please coordinate with Larry to pick one up in advance.

You need to provide:

Your chili for tasting, A list of ingredients posted at your table,(in case of allergies) a crock pot or something that can keep your chili heated, a long extension cord.

It is recommended that you make about 4 gallons of chili, more or less-

 you can always adjust your sample size depending on the crowd.

Prizes awarded:

Ø First Place Champion Chili, Second Place & Third place

Ø Most spirited chili makin team and set up

Ideas- Decorate your table, set up a tent, have add ons to top your samples, have a poster advertising your chili, wear a costume and have trick or treat candy, adult trick or treats are fun too! These are just some ideas.
